Oceanis 31 European Boat of the Year!

Oceanis 31 follows on from the Oceanis 37 by combining elegance with ingenuity for pleasurable cruising with friends and family. With its elegant profile and sleek coachroof, the Oceanis 31 builds on the innovative features introduced by its bigger brother (including the patented companionway hatch and highly-practical liferaft locker with sea hatch). The Oceanis 31 combines functionality with visual appeal and real elegance in a size of boat where design often comes a poor second to function.

  • Fast, well-balanced hull
  • Sail plan designed for easy handling
  • Wheel steering as standard
  • very easy-to-use liferaft locker opening directly to the sea
  • Patented companionway system (sliding foldable companionway hatch)
  • Very large and well-equipped galley
  • Two equipment levels: Standard and Exclusive

The hull is of single-skinned GRP construction. Local areas of reinforcement (keel, rudder, chainplates, hull/deck joint) serve to strengthen the structure. A single-skinned structural inner moulding is bonded to the hull.

Its structural role is important as it takes and absorbs the stresses at pressure points (mast foot, keel, rudder, etc.), ensuring their distribution and so guaranteeing reduced strain on the hull.

The surface of the inner moulding makes cleaning easier and provides a better finish. The standard hull colour is white with silver graphics.

The deck is of glass fibre and balsa sandwich injection construction for optimum strength / lightness ratio as well as excellent heat and sound insulation. All working areas and areas of movement around the deck are provided with a non-slip “diamond point” finish.

The hull/deck joint is screwed and bonded and surrounded by a solid wooden bulwark. This mechanical join ensures a watertight assembly whilst also improving safety when moving about on deck.
